well, on the same theme and something that has been discussed before.. remove the somersault/flips from all characters jumps. This must be awfully confusing for the poor keepers.

The less variation in gameplay makes it more fun. Long live cube.

but then again, doing a 360 whilst shooting involves manully spinng ur mouse whilst aiming to confuse the keeper, involving skill to try and beat the keeper.
Whereas binding a taunt is using a 3rd party method of trying to confuse the keeper. Hence creating an unfair advantage

I don't see it as being unfair.

Do you think keepers should be able to bind a 'double key press' so they can dodge with one key press? Using the same sort of argument; it's creating a unfair advantage.

Maybe if the keeper taunts the attacker back it will confuse the attacker? Probably as much as the other way around. ;)

1. Somersaults have been disabled untill celebration phase for a long time

2. A 360 requires skill, it involves timing and orientation issues

3. Binding taunt to a movement key requires no skill (in-game) and disorientates the keeper (altho I do think the gun still points the same way)

It's cheating imo.

4. Double key keeper dodging is gay imo =\ I would ask keepers about this tho, since I know jack shit about keeping.

giving keeper a single tap dodge is hardly an advantage, any power shot outside the pbox can be saved with a double tap dodge, anything inside the pbox the keeper should be attacking the player anyway not standing back and tapping once to go left or right.

besides 1 tap dodge doesnt help when u hav less than half a second to react to a fast shot, ull prolly dodge past it anyway..my opinion

edit : i as a keeper, rely heavily on watching where the shooter is aiming

So fakes = teh win? (changing corner before releasing)

Unless the keeper is expecting a fake. :p

but the attacker could anticipate that the keeper is expecting a fake

this is the point where defence comes into the game :p

the attacker shouldnt have the chance to shoot a fake cos the defender should be hassling his ass and forcing him to take a distant shot..if there is no defence then its up to keeper and attacker skill...if keeping was perfect every game would be 0-0, things are fine as they are

So are taunts a big problem for you?

I think I need to keep a few times in a pickup to see what the problem is as I can't see it as being significant at the moment.

I agree with you. Things are fine as they are, I couldn't care less if n00bs run around with a taunt bound to a movement key.

but what if the keeper was expecting the attacker to anticipate the keeper expecting a fake!

taunts arent a big problem, its only a minority that use them, but it probably would be a bigger problem if everyone did it

would they affect the fps of the keeper right at shooting time?
