Volley only and to a certain degree small cube with more than 4 per team is doing very bad things for new people to the game......

you dont like volley only, dont play it.

I like, i will continue playing it.

"but all the servers only play volley only"

well then put up a server of your own and see how much traffic it gets.

what if most servers are VO, and if they aren't people just make it VO themselves?

from now on ill be tackling this by just playing normally and ignore everyone bitching me about it being volley only...i dont care

only problem is on votekick servers :|

VO is ruining deathball IMO, you play the same map...over....and over....and over....and over...and usually its good people against not so good people, and the score ends up 20-8

I dont even bother on mapvote servers to vote for anything other then SmallCube, cuz it will never change. In the rare event it does, everybody will leave.

<Catalyst88> you know what DB needs?
<Catalyst88> an anti-volley-only mutator, where volley goals don't count :)

I can quote myself if I want to...

"what if most servers are VO, and if they aren't people just make it VO themselves?"

THen it should be obvious what the majority wants to play.

It is very hard for a minority to hold a server ransom... so its normally with majority concent... if not... Then those who want volley only can get kicked, go to a volley only server, and the people on the VO server who don't want VO can leave and go to a non-VO server. The only problem with that ideal is that there needs to be either a good way of advertising, or everyone needs to have a certain amount of intelligence and respect... something I'm not too trusting in in the human race... Particularly in Internet games.

You can compare Volley Only to SO MANY other games... people favor certain game-types... and just go with them. In Starcarft, it was "money maps." In TFC it was "2Fort." In CounterStrike it was "Dust." And I'm sure you can bring in examples from almost every other online game. The straight up fact is people who like the game play it the way they want to. The people who are upset with how it is complain about it. In both StarCraft, and TFC, people complained about the fact that everyone played a certain way. Well, those people like to play it that way. Those who wanted different styles discovered people who felt the same as them, and played games with them, outside of the mainstream way of playing things.

Yes, people left CS because of Dust. Yes, people left TFC because of 2Fort. Yes, people left Starcraft because of Money Maps. Did they kill the games? Not really.

Bleh... you made me break my vow of silence (ohhh that's gonna get flamed there.. I can see the insults flying now...) But I really needed to throw in my dime. Back to silence.
