David when i organized DB smackdown i used to put a Server as winning prize and it worked well and it had a low cost aswell.
And imo it's nicer than money
I agree. Good prizes are ones which the team will appreciate but also which don't cause strife amounst team members and teams themselves.

Btw as i told , Teams have never played Ladder games, even when we had a Ladder in clanbase site.
And about new teams not allowed to join a running league.... it's true, as reqqy said, i think we should also have a Active LAdder in CLanbase to solve this problem, and to bring new players
Teams DID play in clanbase, but only before the DBL started - we really need an "official" ladder competition, otherwise teams simpley won't play in it because they'll be busy elsewhere (i.e. the DBL). That's why the DBL needs a ladder. Whether or not it has a league, we need a ladder - with the focus on the ladder. That encourages new teams to join as well as clan play - if you don't believe it's popular, take a look at how many teams have registered interest in the ESL.
Plus I think it's better if all the DB-based competitions were in the same place, since that way they're more visible to people. That wouldn't happen if don't put the ladders on the DBL site.
