I disagree on the point that its better for noobs.
I remember when we all started playing Deathball, almost 4 years ago. There wasn't even a volley function. But then we added volleys...it was so hard to do.
It took us days to score the first proper volley goal.

there are always people who want to be something "other"
like VO com. and the regular. like the NA with 2.3 and Euro with 2.4
some people just stuck in it and dont want to change because it difficult and they good like it is.
i know it from my own expirience i had the same problem to switch from 2.3 to 2.4 and from VO to normal. its not a question of taste its just u got used to it. please stop the stupid excuses... u know im right and u just try to find a way to win in this topic!

I dunno what you all argue about but im just gonna write what i think you may be on about .

About vo... its annoying to see other public players saying you must volley... cant they see they limit themselve's to doing just this... I for one can say i have been banned because i scored several no vo goals... This is maybe why i sometimes refuse to help public players @ theone.

When only playing volley this makes your position so much harder.. you limit the things you can do like creating chances. Most good chances will generally come with a charge now days, allthough down volley is proving to be some what effective for long passing.

I guess its just a matter of taste... some guys get bored of no vo and others enjoy it. I for one enjoy volleying cause i like to see that ball curl in ( makes me feel ownage ).. after all volleying is a little bit ego wouldnt you say? Sure i will no vo when i need to though

btw NA is all for 2.4 except a few noisy noisy ppl.

Change do scare people indeed. I remember how much Strafe was against 2.4 when it first came out because his unique playing ability in 2.3 was at risk :p eh Strafe?

I got flamed yesterday on the THC server for scoring a non VO goal. Some guy named GiW got a bit mouthy etc saying it was VO. I said its not VO, the server doesnt even say VO anyway. His reply was something along the lines of 'its VO if we want it to be'

We are welcome for a change to the better, I still have doubts but I trust the team behind 2.4 that it will get better hopefully, with vo or not.

Putting that aside, having VO coded in does help noobs avoid getting what Ghost got. It's one thing to be confused for a bit about a ball resetting after you shoot it in. It's more confusing and a lot more annoying getting flamed the way Ghost did.

That's what happened before VO was coded in. Players desided to play VO but someone would join and not know or not care and shoot. All that does is piss everyone off. Why piss people off. VO coded in avoids this problem.

Don't let them get flamed into quitting before they can find regular deathball.

And yes, it would be helpful if server admins where asked to clearly put "volley only" in the title if they run a VO server.
