I've seen that before. I believe it was from importing a texture wrong. Mine was a floor texture - look down see black hole. Can't remember more details. Sorry.

well, weird bsp stuff
show me and i should be able to show you

have lots of experience from my 4 year Unreal + UT mapping with that, where everything was BSP
and all who couldn't build clean ran into probs :)
