1.7 betatesting

When we start the final 1.7 betatesting in a few days.....plz help, don't think "let the other's test, I cannot be bothered".....because there are no "others"
Just telling you that I cannot be bothered to read any 1.7 complaints when it's released! The betaphase is the time to kill that stuff!

can somebody tell me EXACTLY what to do to setup 2 shortcuts for DB, where one leads to a working version and the other to the betaversion

I'm a noob at this sort of thing, and too lazy to do it the long way each time.

i got 2 different ini's

UT2003.ini
UT2003n.ini

the standard one can stay, the n.ini needs changes:

Paths=../dbnew/*.u
Paths=../dbnew/*.ut2
Paths=../dbnew/*.utx
Paths=../dbnew/*.uax
Paths=../dbnew/*.umx
Paths=../dbnew/*.usx
Paths=../dbnew/*.ukx
Paths=../System/*.u
Paths=../Maps/*.ut2
Paths=../Maps/a/*.ut2
Paths=../Textures/*.utx
Paths=../Sounds/*.uax
Paths=../Music/*.umx
Paths=../StaticMeshes/*.usx
Paths=../Animations/*.ukx
Paths=../Saves/*.uvx

its important that the dbnew stuff comes BEFORE the rest, so it looks there first
then put all 1.7 files into ut2k3\dbnew (in this case)

setup a link like that:
D:\UT2003\System\UT2003.exe -mainmenu=deathball.db_mainmenu -ini=ut2003n.ini

The new cube looks insane, are those the final textures?

Upload all the stuff you need testing tomororw morning (wanna get my hands on Cube 3.0 especially) and i'll pound it all to death and see if i can break anything. :D

yeah the rust texture looks more like an alien planet from outer space /o\

btw, I get a LowCube mismatch error when I connect to the beta server.

Any ideas why? I put the new version into the dbnew directory....
?
